Vstupuje a rozhliada sa, pozoruje a hľadá.
Otázky zamrznuté v tichu. Slová a príbehy. Zastavenie a šepot. Spomienky, ktoré sú ďalej od konkrétnosti. Rovnako ich však cíti, (pre)žije.
Zmysly zaznamenávajú dej, imaginácia či realita? Nemusí to byť zásadné – zážitok, inokedy však zlomový okamih – význam.
Príležitosť načúvať. Dotknúť sa a vidieť. Dovoliť si (a) spoznať.
Medzi intimitou a verejnosťou, online a offline, láskou a stratou. Súčasnosnosťou i odkazmi minulosti. Telom a mysľou, hranicami a uznaním.
Jan Bražina pracuje s témami osobnej identity či nonkonformity ľudského tela a mysle, pričom sleduje oblasti vzťahov, pamäte a prehodnocovania sociálno-spoločenských naratívov. Jeho umelecký jazyk sa vyznačuje záujmom o telesnosť či rodové rolové aspekty aich vnútorné i vonkajšie prežívanie. Tieto tématické rámce rozvíja metaforickými odkazmi s často zneisťujúcou, individuálnu imagináciu podnecujúcou dinamikou.
Pracuje prevažne s textilom, ale aj tradičnými sochárskymi technikami s využívaním prírodných zdrojov, pričom vytvára remeselne prepracované objekty, ktoré zoskupuje do priestorových inštalácii a situácií. Jeho textilné interpretácie príbehov, spomienok či pocitov sa vyznačujú vlastnou symbolikou a odkazujú k tradíciám, ktoré transformujú v zmysle prekračovania hraníc stereotypizácie či rodovej konformity. Postavy, kostýmy či obrazy, ktoré väčšinou prepája epizodický príbeh, potom spolu s inšpiráciami v hudbe či popkultúre referujú o citlivosti, ktorej sila hovorí nad rámec krehkosti využitých, recyklovaných materiálov a osobných spomienok i vyrovnávania sa s realitou rytmu každodennosti.
Jan Bražina je absolventom Ateliéru sochařství pod vedením Jana Ambrůze na FaVU VUT v Brne. Jeho tvorba bola prezentovaná na samostatných výstavách Hochstapler (2025, Galerie ART v Brne) alebo Love Rhymes with Fuck You (2023, Galerie TIC) a jeho inštalácie boli súčasťou mnohých skupinových výstav, ako napríklad My Psyche is Where The Marble Staircase with Brass Handrail Leads (2024, Holešovická šachta, Praha), UPRCHLÁ, NAŠEL SKRÝŠ, STÁLE UNIKÁ (2023, PLATO Ostrava) alebo Kůže a Masky (2023, Galerie TIC v Brne). V roku 2023/2024 bol vybraným rezidentom Brno Open Studios Art Hub Inkubator.

Entering and looking around, observing and searching.
Questions frozen in silence. Words and stories. Stopping and whispering. Memories that drift beyond the concrete. However there is also the possibility to feel them, to experience them.
The senses register the unfolding – imagination or reality? It may not be important—just an experience. At other times, a turning point—a moment of meaning.
An opportunity to listen. To touch and to see. To allow oneself (and) to know.
Between intimacy and public, online and offline, love and loss. The present and the references of the past. Through body and mind, boundaries and acceptance.
Jan Bražina explores themes of personal identity and the nonconformity of the human body and mind, focusing on relationships, memory, and the re-evaluation of socio-cultural narratives. His artistic language is marked by a deep interest in corporeality and gender role aspects, as well as their internal and external experiences. He develops these thematic frameworks through metaphorical references, often imbued with an unsettling, imagination-provoking dynamic. He primarily works with textiles, but also employs traditional sculptural techniques using natural materials, crafting meticulously made objects that he arranges into spatial installations and situations. His textile interpretations of stories, memories, or emotions carry a unique symbolism and refer to traditions which he transforms in ways that transcend stereotypes and gender conformity. The characters, costumes, and images—usually linked through an episodic narrative—are enriched by references to music and pop culture. These elements reflect a sensitivity whose power speaks beyond the fragility of the recycled materials used, as well as personal memories and the negotiation of everyday realities.
Jan Bražina is a graduate of the Sculpture Studio led by Jan Ambrůz at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology (FaVU VUT). His work has been featured in solo exhibitions such as Hochstapler (2025, Galerie ART in Brno) and Love Rhymes with Fuck You (2023, Galerie TIC), and his installations have been part of numerous group exhibitions, including My Psyche is Where The Marble Staircase with Brass Handrail Leads (2024, Holešovická šachta, Prague), Escaped, Found a Hideout, Still on the Run (2023, PLATO Ostrava), and Skin and Masks (2023, Galerie TIC, Brno). In 2023/2024, he was a selected resident at the Brno Open Studios Art Hub Inkubator.
